Gum Arabic, also known as Acacia gum, Arabic gum, Senegal gum, is a natural gum consisting of hardened sap.
Gum Arabic is obtained from the trunk and leaves of different species of African Acacia. In cosmetics, it is used for its film-forming properties. By mixing with water it forms a kind of gel that improves the texture of the products. It is widely used in cosmetics to improve their outfit.
Types of Gum Arabic:
- Acacia Gum: Acacia Gum is today found in small doses in a large number of everyday products, including wines, candies, cosmetics, soft drinks, flavorings. It can be used as a coating agent for confectioneries, an emulsifier and stabilizing agent in drinks, or a fiber in dietetic products
- Acacia Senegal Gum: Senegal gum is a small thorny deciduous tree, which is known by several common names, including gum acacia, gum Arabic tree, Sudan gum, and Sudan gum Arabic.
